Signal Hill Announcements – April 3, 2020

Dear Families,

Let me begin by saying how much we miss all of our students.  As you know Signal Hill has a way of being with a positive growth mindset and Lil’wat Principals of Learning This will hold us in strength as we adapt to our new way of learning and the bumps we may experience along the way. We ask for your patience and understanding as we travel this new terrain with you.

Staff are now connecting with families and providing small learning activities that lead to the April 15 date of continuity of learning. We do our best to keep students’ minds moving forward. That said, you know your child best and we respect that you may need to adjust learning to suit your child and family needs.

Now that more of our learning is on line, please discuss cyber safety with your child and monitor them as much as you possibly can. Our students are familiar with citizenship for an online environment and this is reflected in our SHE Code of Conduct.

At this time SHE staff would like to thank everyone for their support, especially our health professionals, grocery store employees, first responders and all other essential service workers.

In closing, we wish you and your family the very best. Please follow health guidelines using social distancing and hygiene protocol. Remember, life will get back to normal eventually, and we will reflect on the good lessons we have come to learn throughout these unique times.

Signal Hill Announcements – March 30, 2020

Dear Signal Hill Families,

Thank you families for keeping yourselves well and others safe during these unique times. Many inspiring stories are being shared about how students are being creative in play and learning. In the following weeks we will share these stories with you.

Today our staff had a morning meeting. It was great to connect as a staff while still respecting physical distancing. We are happy to be back after spring break to connect with you and your family. Staff today worked to connect with you and your children and to let you know learning will officially begin Friday, April 3rd.

Our Signal Hill community understands that learning ultimately supports the well-being of the self, the family and the community. Our students are well versed in the power of a growth mindset. This mindset will hold us all steadfast during these unique circumstances. We wish you and your family the best as we navigate our new way to learn together.
