Signal Hill Announcements – Thursday, December 14, 2017

This time of year we hear about more incidences of children with lice in the school. Please find attached information that will help with lice if your child has it. We appreciate everyone’s efforts to keep our school lice free!  Lice Clinic Pamphlet

We also have more students and staff that are sick this time of year. Please keep your children home if they are sick so we can keep everyone healthy. They will be given opportunity to catch up with their missed work when they return.

This Just In! The Pemberton Food Bank would love to accept any food donations you would like to give! In particular they are looking for items such as peanut butter, canned fruit, canned fish, granola bars, cereals, lunch box items, etc.  Half of the clients they help are children! We will have boxes in the front entry until Dec 22nd and will be taking food and monetary donations at the Winter Concerts Thank you for supporting our communities!

Hello Pemberton Families!

We have four students arriving in Pemberton in late January who need families with whom they can discover Canada, improve their English, and share some of their own culture. We have boys and girls coming from Austria, Germany, and Japan!

If you would like more information on hosting a student, please contact Brianne Aldcroft at baldcroft@sd48.bc.ca

WE CARE Club is having a winter clothing drive and a coin collection for the local food bank! The winter clothing drive is Monday, December 11 to the 15th and the coin collection for the food bank runs from December 11 until Wednesday the 20th. If you have any items you would like to donate, please bring them in! Thanks for your support!

The “Find Your Fit” Tour is coming to PSS tonight Thursday, December 14th, 3:30-7pm. This is an interactive event where youth can try the skills they’ll need for different careers in demand in the region and across the province. Students from grades 5-12 will participate and it takes up to 50 min. to complete this program in the gym. Students will first visit up to 16 career activity stations where they can take part in a hands-on activity related to a specific career. These activities will help students uncover their strengths and interests, giving them the knowledge they need to get started exploring careers. They’ll then move on to a labour market information station, where they can dig deeper into a career of their choice. The event is open to the Public 3:30 – 7:00pm.

The Pemberton Children’s Centre is starting a Before School Program for those who need childcare in January. Please see the attachment for more information.

If you have not yet gone online and signed the “Walking Field Trip Form” so it’s easier to take students on local field trips, please click on the link below to sign the form as soon as possible as our teachers are planning some fun local field trips for our students:
